Want to know how to drink more water without getting bored? Here are my best tips for keeping your water exciting and delicious!

Add Some Flavor with Fruit

  • Try berries – strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries work well
  • Slice up your preferred citrus – lemon, lime, and orange (scroll to the end of this post for my citrus hack)
  • Combine more than one flavor – strawberry with lime, lemon with blueberries, etc.
  • Prefer cold water? Freeze the fruit before adding to your water bottle
  • Want a stronger flavor? Muddle the fruit in your cup before adding water
  • Make it easy – Try out this water bottle with a fruit holder built right in.

Want to Add Flavor on the Go?

  • Add a squirt or two of Vitality drops. They come in two flavors – Grapefruit Bergamot (my favorite) and Lavender Lemon and they add natural electrolytes and a little sweetness (from stevia).
  • Add a drop of Vitality oils. Young Living’s vitality essential oil line is labeled for consumption, and a little goes a long way. Lemon and lime are popular, but if you want to try something a little different, I highly recommend tangerine! Grapefruit, peppermint, and orange are a few more that I keep near my Berkey water filter.
  • Looking for something to help curb cravings? Try Slique Essence. It’s made of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, spearmint, and ocotea with stevia extract for sweetness.

My Citrus Hack

Whenever I end up with more citrus than I can use in a week (grocery story sale on limes, orange tree is producing well, etc.), I slice them up, place them on a wax paper lined cookie sheet, and pop it in the freezer. Once frozen, I put the citrus slices in a freezer bag and keep them in the freezer. When I want to add some flavor to my water, I put a few slices into a glass and then add water. Voila! Super easy and convenient, and it helps me avoid food waste. Win-win!
