Day One: Essential Oil Infused Bath Bombs

Do you know someone who has an obsession with fancy essential oil infused bath bombs? Those can cost an average of $5-$7 each. Instead, you can make your own large ones for about $1 each, or little ones for about $0.25 each, using this recipe. The best part is that you control what is in them. If a product has the words fragrance, parabens, phthalates, or synthetic dyes in the ingredients, I don’t want it (Search “dangers of” with each word to find out why). After all, your skin is your largest organ and I don’t want to sit in a tub letting those ingredients soak into my skin.(Not a DIY person? DIY Essential Oil Infused Bath Bombs

So, do you want to spoil your favorite teacher, friend, or co-worker? Make them some lavender essential oil infused bath bombs for a fun, fizzy way to unwind at the end of a long day.

Or, you can turn this project into a treasured moment.  Spend some time with your best friend, son or daughter, niece or nephew, or godchild, and make bath bombs as presents for their friends (or to keep!).

Ingredients:

½ cup citric acid
½ cup corn starch
½ cup unscented Epsom salt
1 cup baking soda
2 teaspoons organic coconut oil
7 drops Young Living Lavender essential oil (Stress Away, Peace & Calming, Valor, Frankincense, and Panaway are other great choices from your Premium Starter Kit)
1 ½ teaspoons water

Directions:

Mix together and form into mold. You can use bath bomb molds, or simple ice trays will work too.

Let dry for 24 hours.

Once dry, place them in a beautiful Christmas gift container lined with tissue paper.  I like to wrap each with plastic wrap sealed with a sticker.  I then place each one in tissue paper and tie with a ribbon.  You can even add a tag or label to let your gift recipient know what scent you used. There are so many ways to present these as gifts.

Want to take this to the next level?

Add dried flower petals to the mixture when you place it in the mold.
