Do you love for your home to smell wonderful and inviting, but you don’t want to bring in the synthetic fragrances of plug-ins or candles? Use your essential oils and your diffuser! There are so many combinations that are perfect for the Christmas season. I’ll include some Christmas diffuser blends just using your starter kits oils, and a few diffuser combinations that use oils not included in your kit (hello wishlist!).

Ingredients:

Essential Oil Diffuser (my favorite is the Desert Mist diffuser)
Young Living starter kit oils
Water

Directions:

Drop the number of oils in each diffuser combo into the empty diffuser, then add water up to the fill line (your diffuser manual will tell you where the line is). Note – If you are new to essential oils, you may want to cut the number of drops in half at first and see how you like it, and then add more drops of oils as desired. Turn on the diffuser, and change the light to red or green for a festive appearance (I love the candlelight setting on the dessert mist too).

Blends with your Starter Kit Oils:
Candy Cane
5 drops Stress Away
2 drops Peppermint

Silent Night
3 drops Peace & Calming
3 drops Lavender

Holiday Hostess
4 drops Stress Away
2 drops Citrus Fresh
2 drops Frankincense

Christmas Night
4 drops Lavender
2 drops Frankincense
2 drops Valor

Blends with Oils Outside of your Starter Kit:
Christmas Tree
3 drops Christmas Spirit
4 drops Northern Lights Black Spruce
2 drops Cypress

Gingerbread Cookies
3 drops Cinnamon Bark
3 drops Stress Away
2 drops Nutmeg
1 drop Lemongrass

Want to Take This to the Next Level?

Want to take this idea and turn it into a gift? Double, triple, etc each amount of drops required for your favorite blend, combine in a glass dropper bottle (or a clean, empty essential oil bottle), and tie a pretty ribbon around the bottle. Include a card with the “recipe” and the name of the blend. When the recipient wants to enjoy the diffuser blend, all they have to do is lightly shake the bottle to mix the contents, and then add 4 – 6 drops to their diffuser, add water, and enjoy!

Bonus Tip: If you want to use an empty essential oil bottle, soak the bottle in warm water, peel the label off, and then add a drop or two of lemon essential oil to easily remove the sticky residue from the label.

Not Really a DIY Person?

Young Living has a blend that I love to use all year, but especially around the holidays, called Christmas Spirit (item number 3356). It’s very affordable, and smells like Christmas in a bottle!  You can get yours here.
